Industry Insights: NightsBridge saves me time

Guests enjoy the view of the mountains and sea at Hout Bay View Guest House

“The key to ensuring a return visit is to spend as much face-time with your guests as possible.”

This is one of the tips Andrew Empey of Hout Bay View had to share when Peter Graham-Parker from the NightsBridge offices paid them a visit.

NightsBridge is used in conjunction with Hotelier at this establishment and Andrew had high praise for the support he receives when he phones in to the NightsBridge offices. This ensures that his questions are answered swiftly, which leaves him with more time to interact with his guests and focus on marketing through the various NightsBridge channels.

The establishment can now boast an average of 80% occupancy, and Andrew feels the management of these bookings is easy and quick through the use of NightsBridge. Read more about calculating your room occupancy using NightsBridge.

Peter returned with a better understanding of the time pressure managers and owners experience on a daily basis. The hospitality industry is fast-paced and therefore systems and processes that save time become daily essentials.

Online availability – a definite advantage

Ruth recently visited the newly opened Harbour Lodge Backpackers in Hout Bay to experience the unique atmosphere that a backpacker establishment offers their guests.

“I have never had the opportunity to stay over in a backpackers, and I was keen to weigh up the experience against a guest house or B&B. I had the opportunity to sit down and chat with Sarah, who has been running the Lodge since it opened six weeks ago.”

Harbour Lodge regularly offers accommodation to volunteer groups and students who prefer the social atmosphere and informal approach of a backpacker establishment.  The shared bedrooms and communal areas encourage interaction and socialising amongst guests that are usually young and adventurous.

The establishment is currently in the process of re-designing their website and revamping their Facebook page, and Sarah was really interested in how to add the NightsBridge Book Now buttons to both of these. Read more about the NightsBridge Facebook Book Now button.

“The Book Now buttons will ensure that visitors to our website and Facebook page are able to check availability and book there and then – a definite competitive advantage!”

Sarah feels strongly about the use of NightsBridge as an online marketing tool, and her future plans are to ensure the system gets used to its full potential to further put Harbour Lodge on the map.
